A winner has been crowned in the “Dancing with the Stars” season 30 finals. Kellie Pickler and professional partner Derek Hough took home the coveted mirrorball trophy. After nearly three months of dancing to oldies and hits such as “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” and “I’ve Got the World on a String,” the two finalists were given a shot to win it all during the two-hour finale.

The judges gave strong performances throughout the season, perhaps especially for the TV star Pickler, who said before the show that she practiced dancing “four times a day” for the competition. Fittingly, the 35-year-old picked up her mirrorball trophy from the Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie.

Although their toughest competition during the competition came from singer Jordan Fisher and partner Lindsay Arnold, the outcome was always expected to be close. In fact, both dancers were strong contenders from the beginning.

Before revealing the winners, hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews provided a special tribute to pro dancer Witney Carson, who announced earlier this season that she was leaving the show after getting engaged to boyfriend Christian Wilkins. Carson and her partner, Frankie Muniz, competed in the Season 18 finale.
